History

Mednet is the annual conference of the Society for the Internet in Medicine (SIM) which originated in 1996 to build a network of researchers, stakeholders and users sharing latest research developments and up-to-date tools in medicine, health and the Internet, an area which today is called eHealth. Within a few years, this annual meeting has become the focal point for developers and users of the medical internet. While previous Mednet conferences were primarily hosted in Europe, the 2006 conference in Toronto is the first Mednet to be hosted in North-America. By all accounts, we expect the 2006 congress to become the most successful and largest Mednet conference, with an excellent high-quality program with stellar keynote speakers and panellists.
